Hunger A2 Art Print

Hunger is a portait of my Jamaican muse. There is much emotion in this portait, both in the execution of the medium and within the face of the subject. This image gives a lot of texture as the pain was still wet when I photographed it. The expression in every sense of the word delivers hunger and desire at the same time on behalf of both the artist and the subject.

The subject is a dear friend who lives in hardship but never lets it get him down. I said I would paint his portrait and, one day I would sell it, and send him half of the money. The original is not yet for sale, however half of the proceeds from these prints will be sent to him. Last year he lost the roof his home in a hurricane and now lives in his late grandmother's shack, making the best of each day.

My work is influenced by psychedelic surf art. The original piece is 60 x 90 cm. Acrylic on canvas
