The first painting in my Windows to the Soul collection which features Creation, Tending the Heart Fire, Belonging, and Placeness.

Belonging is reminiscent of Up Helly Aa, the Viking fire festival where the community come together to build a galley and burn it at the ceremony with great pride. The spirals represent the souls coming together with torches to set alight the galley. Up Helly Aa celebrates the end of long winter nights. The full moon represents the peak of gratitude and a culmination of hard work.

This series of paintings is influenced by psychedelic surf art. The original painting is 100 x 100 cm. Oil and Acrylic on canvas.
