Placeness Original Painting

The first painting in my Windows to the Soul collection which features Creation, Tending the Heart Fire, Belonging, and Placeness.

Placeness, is an ode to Shetland and its cycles of life. With a vibrant all-seeing eye as the sun, a Tammy Norrie (Puffin), Orca (Killer Whale), Dratsie (Otter), and Shalders (Oyster Catchers) which represent four houses of Sandwick JHS, where I previously taught Art. The sheep skull, mushrooms and raven give the balance of life and death, with an element of folklore and a splash of psychedelia, all with a backdrop of a shetland beach with cliffs, and daisies in the foreground.

This series of paintings is influenced by psychedelic surf art. The original painting is 100 x 100 cm. Oil and Acrylic on box canvas. Unframed for you to present as you wish.
