Welcome to Urban Viking — an independent creative studio built around art, storytelling, imagination and the freedom to create life on your own terms.

I'm Andrea, the artist, writer and creative entrepreneur behind Urban Viking.

My creative journey has never followed a particularly straight line. I've lived in different parts of the world, travelled, raised a family, worked in education and business, created music, written books and spent years developing my own visual style.

Along the way, I've learned that creativity isn't something you have to squeeze into the corners of your life.

For me, creativity is the life.

The art

My artwork draws inspiration from the things that have fascinated me for years — the ocean, wild landscapes, mythology, Nordic influences, spirituality, human experience and the feeling of freedom that comes from stepping outside the ordinary.

My work can be colourful, psychedelic, symbolic, surreal or rooted in nature.

Sometimes there is a story behind a painting.

Sometimes there is simply a feeling.

I don't believe art has to explain itself completely. I want my work to leave room for the person looking at it to bring their own memories, experiences and imagination into the picture.

That's what makes owning an artwork personal.

Original art & limited editions

I create original paintings as well as high-quality art prints, allowing people to experience the work at different price points.

An original painting is completely unique — there will only ever be one.

Prints allow the artwork to reach a much wider audience, without losing the character and story of the original work.

Whether you're investing in an original or simply looking for something colourful and meaningful for your wall, I want every piece to bring something into your space.

More than paintings

Urban Viking has grown into something much bigger than an art studio.

I also write and publish books, create music and develop projects across different creative mediums.

I've created work for adults and children, with themes that often come back to the same ideas:

Freedom. Courage. Creativity. Resilience. Imagination. Starting again.

I love the fact that one idea can become a painting, a book, a song, a piece of clothing or an entirely new creative project.

There are no rules saying creativity has to stay in one box.

Creating a life differently

Urban Viking is also a reflection of how I choose to live.

I'm not particularly interested in following the traditional definition of success.

I believe you can build a meaningful creative business while living differently.

You can work hard without living your entire life at a desk.

You can change direction.

You can start again.

You can make something from your experiences.

And you can decide that your creativity deserves to take up space.

That's a big part of what Urban Viking represents.
